Farmer Browns – Bath Avenue, Dublin 2.

I’ve a pal who just opened a cafe/restaurant around the corner from the office in town. They make a lot of the ingredients on site, using a lot of locally sourced products. While I was there I discovered the peppers were bought from a neighbour of mine whom I never even knew grew veg! The food is absolutely great, using the highest quality ingredients – you won’t be disappointed.

Finnuala Caffrey is my friend who’s opened it. She’s a random girl; English accent, from Limerick, raised in Meath, lived in Aus and travels the country in a VW hippy van – definitely an interesting mix and always has a good story.

The style or atmosphere is rustic, homely and really welcoming. I’m not sure about the opening hour….seems a bit unusual…but generally open most of the time:)

My favourite from the menu is the Eggs Florentine with salmon. It’s absolutely delicious.

One thing I will say is it’s not fast food. Expect to be waiting a little and chances are they’ll end up chatting to you the whole time.

The gang that work there are a nice bunch, very chatty in a good way. This is a chilled out place; good food takes time but it’s worth the wait!

You’ll catch them on Facebook HERE or call them on 016602326/ 0852326335.farmer brown dublin map
